The NC Highway Patrol says speed was a factor in a single vehicle rollover accident Sunday morning. It happened on Wilson’s Mills Road.
The operator of a minivan drove nearly 400 feet after leaving the roadway and slammed into a driveway culvert causing the vehicle to overturn. The van also collided with two mailboxes and a small tree.
The driver kicked out part of the front windshield and escaped from the wreckage before first responders arrived. The driver was transported to Johnston Medical Center in Clayton for treatment of minor injuries.
The NC Highway Patrol, Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, Johnston County EMS, and Wilson’s Mills Fire Department responded to the 6:25am mishap.
