JOHNSTON COUNTY – A teenage driver was seriously injured late Friday night after his car slammed into a northern Johnston County Home. The accident happened just before midnight on Wake County Line Road.
Initial reports indicate the young driver was traveling at speeds close to 100 mph when he lost control of his car. The vehicle traveled off the roadway several hundred feet before slamming into the side of a home.
The accident victim was pinned in the vehicle until being freed by firefighters. He suffered serious injuries. There were no other occupants.
Four people were inside the home asleep when the crash occurred. They escaped without injury but were unable to remain in their home due to the extent of structural damage.
The Red Cross responded to assist the three adults and one child.
The Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
