Smithfield-Selma High senior Josh Faison was recognized by the Johnston County Board of Education for winning the NC High School Athletic Association 3-A Indoor Track and Field State Championship in the shot put.
Faison’s winning throw was 50 feet, 9 inches which was 6 inches better than the 2nd best throw in the competition.
