SSS Student Assaulted, Taken By Ambulance To Hospital

A student at Smithfield Selma High school was taken from the school by ambulance Thursday afternoon after being attacked.

School resource officers said 16 year-old J. Seleana Allen of Selma got into an argument with a 15 year-old student and then attacked the other girl. During the affray the victim was beaten and then kicked in the head.

The 15 year-old was transported to Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield for treatment of injuries including a possible concussion.  The injuries were not life threatening.

Allen was arrested and charged with assault. No other students were involved.
