Stabbing Victim Involved In Crash While Driving To Hospital

A woman driving herself to the hospital after being stabbed was involved in a serious head-on collision in Johnston County.

The stabbing and crash occurred in the Cleveland community Saturday evening. 

Hannah-Brooke-Venable-FIJohnston County Sheriff’s Detective Lt. M.J. Carson said the victim, a 20 year-old Clayton woman, was stabbed several times with a knife while inside a vehicle on Bratton Drive.  The victim was able to get away from her attacker and was driving herself to Johnston Medical Center in Clayton when she was involved in a serious collision with another vehicle on Highway 42 near Cornwallis Road.

The stabbing victim was transported from the accident scene by ambulance to the hospital.

Deputies later arrested 19 year-old Hannah Brooke Venable of Strickland-Hinton Road, Zebulon on a single count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Detective Carson told JoCoReport.com on Monday that additional charges have not been ruled out.
