No criminal charges will be filed against a man who was involved in a standoff with Johnston County deputies for two hours.
The incident occurred late-Saturday night on US301 between Four Oaks and Benson. The standoff prompted deputies to shutdown US301 until the scene had been secure.
The suspect was armed with a handgun during the incident. Deputies persuaded the man to put down the gun and surrender.
Authorities said Monday the individual was taken to the Johnston County Mental Health Center for evaluation and will not face any criminal charges. No injuries were reported during the incident. Photos by JoCoFire.com
