RALEIGH – The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is conducting an investigative audit of Lee County Schools focused on potential misappropriation of funds. The district was notified earlier this week through an engagement letter sent by OSA.
“I’ve talked to leadership of Lee County Schools, the District Attorney, and local law enforcement,” said State Auditor Dave Boliek. “With our investigation into Lee County Schools, the goal is to provide an objective account to assist in resolving what appears to be financial malfeasance.”
We dont need a DOGE in NC if we have Boliek at the helm of the Auditor’s office. Finally an auditor that….audits!
