Stolen School Property Recovered At Flea Market

Smithfield Police have recovered numerous items stolen during a break-in at the Johnston County Schools Facility Services building.  On Sunday, a break-in was discovered at the building at 601 West Market Street (US70) near Highway 210.

Numerous power tools were stolen during the break-in.

Interim Police Chief Keith Powell said the stolen tools were sold to a vendor at the Brightleaf Flea Market. The tools, valued at $1,200, were recovered from the vendor.

Powell said the case has been assigned to a detective. No arrests have been made.
