Stolen Trailer Recovered, Arrest Made

SMITHFIELD – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) arrested a Four Oaks man October 8 on felony charges. Barry Alan Justice, age 49, of the 1100 block of US 701 South was charged with receiving stolen goods and obtaining property by false pretense.

A 2014 Freedom enclosed trailer was recently reported stolen to Smithfield Police. The JCSO recovered the trailer on Melba Lane, Dunn in southern Johnston County.

Authorities allege Mr. Justice agreed to sell the stolen trailer to an unsuspecting buyer for $600. The buyer had paid $300 of the purchase price. Before they could return to make the remaining $300 payment, the trailer was located and recovered.

  1. The justice system in joco and other places is a real joke. Its all about revenue. Not the safety of the citizens. They get locked up they have to pay to get out. In all honesty they just don’t want to do their jobs.
