Store Employee Robbed While Walking To Car

Police are encouraging patrons at Carolina Premium Outlets to use caution after an employee at one of the retail stores said they were robbed.  The incident happened on Black Friday but the victim waited six days to report the crime.

The Four Oaks woman said she was leaving work at one of the stores around 7:35pm on November 25th. As the 19 year-old woman walked across a rear parking lot used by employees she said the suspect approached, physically assaulted her and grabbed her purse.  The suspect fled in a vehicle, possibly a Ford passenger car.

Smithfield Police spokesperson Captain R. Sheppard said the victim had obvious physical injuries from the robbery. Police believe the incident was random.  No arrests have been made but the case is under investigation by detectives.
