The owner of a Johnston County business was stabbed during an apparent robbery. Around 5:30pm Saturday, deputies were called to Jimmy’s Gas Mart on US70 Business West at Swift Creek Road.
Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said a black male entered the business and stabbed the owner during a robbery. The suspect then fled. The owner then walked outside and got immediate medical attention from an ambulance crew that were eating in a restaurant next door.
The victim was rushed to Wake Medical Center for treatment.
Captain Caldwell said the injuries appeared to be non-life threatening.
Sheriff’s deputies cordoned off the parking lot with crime scene tape after arriving on the scene. Captain Caldwell said the incident was captured on the store’s video surveillance cameras.
