Stories & Songs Community Concert Feb. 15

DUNN – Central Baptist Church will host Stories & Songs, a community concert on Sunday, February 15 at 6:00 PM, featuring original music written by songwriters from within the church and the stories behind those songs.

The evening will highlight a group of around fifteen songwriters who regularly contribute original music for worship services and special events throughout the year, including Christmas and Easter. During the concert, several of those writers will share songs they’ve written along with the experiences and moments that inspired them.

Recently, a group of these songwriters participated in a songwriting event in Nashville, where three of their songs placed in competitions. One of those recognized songs will be shared during the concert.

Pastor Darren Hughes says the night offers something unique for anyone who enjoys music: “Each writer has a unique style—some are more storytellers, some are deeply personal and others are challenging us all in how we think about God as part of our everyday lives. I wrote a song about the adoption of our daughter in 2014. We plan to sing that with her at this concert. It’s gonna be a great night.”
