The sky looked a bit scary in Johnston County Tuesday night. Portions of the area were hit with high winds, large hail and torrential rainfall.
Power lines were knocked down on Glendale Road. Scattered power outages were reported near Clayton, Kenly, and Stancil’s Chapel.
A large tree limb fell, knocking a hole in the roof of a house on Simmons Street in Kenly allowing the rain inside. The Kenly Fire Department placed a tarp on the roof after Duke Energy crews arrived on the scene to turn off power to a downed electrical line. Photos by John Payne
