A Johnston County high school student has been arrested for allegedly engaging in a sex act with another student while on campus.
WTSB News has learned the incident, which was reported to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office on March 7th, occurred in a stairwell at Smithfield Selma High School.
School administrators at SSS High reportedly learned about the incident after being tipped off about a video of the alleged act being posted online. School staff then notified deputies.
Sixteen year-old Malik Muhammed Sheperd of South First Street, Smithfield was arrested Wednesday and charged with the first degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
No additional details were released about the incident because it involved a minor.
Sheperd was given a $25,000 bond on the felony charge.
