CLAYTON – On December 15, a security camera captured a Ram pickup back up to an enclosed utility trailer on North Tech Drive then leave with the trailer and its contents.
Johnston County deputies responded and took a report from the victim who said the stolen trailer, valued at $8,000, contained $21,425 in commercial mowers and landscaping equipment.
Based on the security video, authorities said they were able to identify the suspect as Jamie Scott Joyner, age 56, of the 7500 block of US 70 Business West, Clayton.
The stolen trailer and mowing equipment were later found at Joyner’s residence and returned to the victim, authorities said.
Joyner was arrested January 14 by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and charged with felony larceny, altering/removing a motor vehicle serial number, and injury to person property.
