MIDDLESEX – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a woman found shot to death inside her rural home this morning (Friday). Around 9:00am, deputies were dispatched to 1277 Woodard’s Dairy Road, near Crocker’s Nub Road, for a shooting investigation. Officers discovered 51 year-old Shana Lynn Williams of the address deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
Deputies identified Dylan Joseph Odett, 30, of Winston Salem, NC as the suspect. Odett is the nephew of the victim. Raleigh Police arrested Odett this afternoon on a murder warrant from the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said no additional details are being released as the investigation is still ongoing. A motive was also not disclosed.
