Suspect Shot During Struggle With Police Officer

HARNETT COUNTY — A suspect was shot in the leg during a struggle with a Coats police officer Friday night.

The incident occurred in the parking lot of the Speedway convenience store on North McKinley Street.

The individual was transported to a hospital for treatment. Their condition has not been released.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
