Suspect’s Signature Helps Authorities Solve Micro Car Break-Ins

travis-william-hargis-fiAn arrest was made today (Thursday) in connection with a rash of car break-ins discovered Sunday on Main Street in Micro.

Travis William Hargis, 26, of the 2200 block of Old Cornwallis Road, Princeton was arrested at a location on S. Maple Street in Kenly this morning and transported to the Johnston County Jail.

Hargis is accused of breaking into 4 cars parked at three homes removing numerous items including credit cards.

A break in the case came when Hargis allegedly used one of the victims financial cards at a Selma convenience store this week. Hargis was allegedly captured on the stores security camera. In addition, authorities said he signed his name to the receipt.

Hargis was served with 17 warrants including breaking and entering a motor vehicle, identity theft, financial card theft, larceny, and obtaining property by false pretenses.
