CLAYTON – Two homes in the Ross Landing community behind East Clayton Elementary School were damaged by a suspicious fire.
The incident happened Friday, March 28 around 6:45pm.
Authorities believe one or more juveniles possibly playing with a cigarette lighter set fire to a grassy area. The fire spread to two nearby homes on E. Porthaven Way, burning the vinyl siding.
The fires were quickly extinguished. The total damage to the two homes was estimated at 15,000.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
Hope they find the youths.
