A fire that damaged a building in southern Johnston County early Sunday is being labeled suspicious.
Fire crews responded to the early morning blaze in the 700 block of Shade Tree Road outside of Benson. Officials discovered a storage barn had been heavily damaged. The owner of the property said the barn contained valuable items.
The Johnston County Fire Marshal and Johnston County Sheriff’s Office are jointly investigating. No injuries were reported.
