A SUV struck the front of a convenience store Thursday afternoon. The accident happened around 2:00pm at the Speedway on Highway 42 just east of US 70 in the Clayton city limits.
The driver reported they were pulling into a handicapped parking space when the vehicle accelerated and crashed into the front window of the business, shattering glass and damaging some merchandise.
Clayton Police confirmed there were no injuries.
The Clayton Fire Department responded and confirmed there was no structural damage to the store.
The business was temporarily closed Thursday afternoon during the clean up and investigation. Photos by JoCoFire.com
