SUV Strikes Tree

The Highway Patrol is investigating a serious crash Monday morning near Smithfield. It happened in the 2000 block of Wilson’s Mills Road.

Just after 8:00 am, a red SUV ran off the roadway, collided with a tree and overturned. Four people inside the SUV including a baby were injured. All were transported to the hospital for treatment.

None of the injuries were thought to be life threatening.   Photos by John Payne
