Tanker Carrying Liquid Grease Overturns

DUNN, N.C. — Emergency crews responded Thursday morning after a tanker truck carrying several thousand gallons of liquid grease overturned on a ramp connecting U.S. Highway 421 to Interstate 95 northbound in Dunn.

Authorities said part of the load spilled from the tanker following the crash, prompting a response from emergency management officials and other first responders.

Traffic in the area was impacted as crews worked to contain the spill and clear the scene.

No additional information was immediately released.

Officials have not said what caused the tanker to overturn.

The incident remains under investigation.
