A teenager was assaulted this week while at a public park in the Town of Micro.
The 16 year-old victim, a student at North Johnston High School, said he was at Jerome Park on East Main Street around 4:00pm Tuesday when another person reportedly pulled out an airsoft pistol and struck him in the head twice and once in the chin.The victim sustained minor injuries.
A second person was accompanying the suspect armed with the airsoft pistol. The two fled before Johnston County sheriff’s deputies arrived.
Authorities don’t believe the assault was random. The incident remains under investigation.
