One arrest has been made and charges against at least two other suspects are pending following a burglary near Benson.
On July 24th, two victims reported they were asleep inside a barn behind a home on Old Fairground Road near Benson. While they slept someone broke into the barn and stole their cell phones and a Playstation game system. The suspects also broke into one of the victims cars and removed a purse.
On Tuesday, 19 year-old Ja’Qwon Anthony Mingus of George Wilton Drive, Clayton was arrested. Mingus was charged with first degree burglary, breaking and entering a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property and two counts of larceny.
He was confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $100,000 bond. Johnston County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Tammy Amaon said charged against more suspects are pending.
