The Benson Area Medical Center (BAMC) in conjunction with South Johnston High School, Campbell University and community members, recently conducted a Teen Health Fair at South Johnston High School.
A total of 196 free sports physicals were completed by providers and staff at BAMC and Dr. Kerry Whitt, with assistance from the Campbell University Athletic Training Department for South Johnston students and Benson, Four Oaks and Meadow Middle School students.
“While this was the eighth year of providing the free sports physicals, the impetus to add the teen health fair component came out of efforts to improve the quality of health for the teen patients at BAMC and the community” states Dr. Eugene Maynard, Medical Director.
Founded in 1979, Benson Area Medical Center is a rural health center providing primary care to over 12,000 residents of Johnston, Harnett and Sampson counties. Contributed photo
