KENLY – A Johnston County teenager was shot during a robbery. The 19 year-old victim was at a home on Pollock Road outside of Kenly around 1:30am Sunday when he was allegedly robbed of an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect then shot the victim in the chest.
The teen was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Johnston County Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said warrants have been obtained for a suspect in the case who fled from the scene before officers arrived. Authorities said the incident was not a random act.
