Two Clayton brothers ended up crashing both of their cars last night with one of them ending up in the hospital.
Clayton Police say 18-year-old Dontres Earl Coleman and his 17-year-old brother Dayquan William Coleman were speeding down Guy Road near State Avenue around 9:30 last night when Dontres tried to pass Dayquan. Dayquan then sideswiped his brother’s car causing Dontres’ car to run off the road, hit a concrete driveway culvert, go airborne and then strike a tree and flip upside down. He refused to be transported to the hospital.
Dayqaun’s car also ran off the road, through the grass, and then struck two different trees – practically wrapping the white Nissan around a tree. He was taken to Wake Med with non life-threatening injuries.
Both brothers are each charged with reckless driving, speeding and failure to maintain lane control.
The speed limit on that section of road is 45 mph. Clayton Police estimate each car was going about 70 miles an hour at the time of the crash. Photos courtesy JoCoFire.com
