A rural Selma church was targeted by a burglar over the weekend. Between Friday and Sunday, someone broke into Faith Tabernacle Church located at 5390 Highway 39 North.
A member went to the church on Sunday to turn on the heat prior to services. They discovered a front door to the sanctuary was open. Upon further investigation, they discovered a safe had been stolen from the office area.
Detective Lt. Brian Murphy with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said an undisclosed amount of cash was taken by the suspect or suspects.
