A church van is temporarily out of service after several parts were stolen off the vehicle.
The theft was discovered Thursday night by a member of the Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church on Piney Grove Road off Highway 210 near the Johnston-Harnett County line.
Someone stole the exhaust system from a Ford church van in the parking lot, including the catalytic convertor and two oxygen sensors. The items were valued at $1,400.
The theft is believed to have occurred between Nov. 11th and Nov. 30th while the van was parked outside the church.
No arrests have been made. Anyone who saw any suspicious activity around the church or has information about the theft is asked to contact the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office at 919-989-5000.
