A brazen thief stole a tip jar from a Benson eatery over-the-weekend.
Employees at China Star on Highway 210 near Interstate 40 reported a man walked into the restaurant around 6:15pm Sunday, grabbed the tip jar from the counter then fled out the front door. He jumped in the passenger side of a gray 4 door car where the driver quickly sped away.
The jar contained about $100 in change for the employees.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5 foot 8, wearing a navy blue shirt and gym shorts. The driver of the gray 4 door car was described as a black male.
The incident remains under investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
