WENDELL – A Johnston County public school bus and passenger car collided at a four-way stop intersection, Friday afternoon.
The accident was reported on NC Highway 231 at Applewhite Road, in northern Johnston County.
According to an eyewitness, the school bus stopped at the four-way stop sign. The bus then began to move forward through the intersection, when a passenger car reportedly failed to stop for a stop sign, and was t-boned in the intersection.
There were four people on Bus 607. They were evaluated at the scene by Johnston County EMS, but no one reported any injuries.
Three people in the car were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The State Highway Patrol investigated the collision.
I thought the 4-way stops were supposed to stop the serious accidents?
Just goes to show, the problem is not the intersection design.
They are meant to reduce traffic collisions and the seriousness not stop.
If the article is correct it sounds like the people in the car wanted to get paid.
