Three big trucks collided at the intersection of Old Cornwallis Road and Edwards Road, just north of Princeton, shortly after 10:00am Monday. An out-of-state driver reportedly failed to yield at the intersection.
His tractor was struck on the side by a fully loaded dump truck which could not stop in time to avoid the accident. The tractor was spun around by the impact and struck another tractor-trailer which was stopped at the intersection.
The driver of the dump truck was injured and transported to Wake Med.
The Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
