Tim Little Files For Johnston County Commissioner

SMITHFIELD – Tim Little of Pine Level officially filed today (Thursday) for the District 6 seat on the Johnston County Board of Commissioners.

Mr. Little was joined by his family and supporters at the Johnston County Board of Elections Office in Smithfield.

“I am excited for the opportunity to serve the great citizens of Johnston County in this new role, if elected. My goal is to preserve the very things that make Johnston County unique and a place where people want to live, work and play. I believe we must take a fresh approach to county services and quality of life issues to put Johnston County in a place of prominence as we look to the future of our county.”

“We must promote smart growth that complements our diversity and enhances every neighborhood / town in our county all while preserving our agricultural history. I will strive to ensure our schools, infrastructure, and public safety services are of upmost importance as our county evolves to ensure we protect, respond and serve all our great citizens… I stand for safe neighborhoods, improved infrastructure, enhanced education, and responsible economic development,” Mr. Little said.

Little is currently employed with Michael Baker International as a Vice President and Infrastructure Operations Manager. Prior to joining Michael Baker, he spent over 30 years as an engineer with the North Carolina Department of Transportation, most recently as Chief Engineer for the NCDOT.

Mr. Little, age 56, a Republican, is currently a member of the Johnston County Planning Board, Johnston County Health Board, and Kenly Fire Department Corporation Board Secretary. He retired after 28 years of service with the Kenly Fire Department.

He is a 1985 graduate of North Johnston High School and a 1990 graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.

The filing period continues through 12 Noon on Friday, December 15, 2023. The Primary Election will be held March 5, 2024 and the General Election on November 5, 2024.

Commissioner Tony Braswell currently represents District 6. Mr. Braswell previously announced he would not seek reelection.
