Tips Leads To Sexual Exploitation Arrest, JCSO Says

GARNER – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 28 year-old man following a criminal investigation.

Local authorities said they received a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, which prompted an investigation into Teddy David Bidwell III of Sporting Club Drive, Garner.

Deputies said they served a search warrant at his address and seized a computer and cell phones. Following a forensic examination of the electronic devices child pornography was reportedly located.

During the search warrant, a small amount of suspected fentanyl was allegedly found at the address.

Bidwell was arrested October 15 and charged with eight counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bidwell was taken before a magistrate and confined in the Johnston County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond.
