Todd Sutton was sworn in to the Johnston County Board of Education today (Friday) at the Johnston County Courthouse in Smithfield.

Sutton was sworn in by the Chief Resident Superior Court Judge Thomas Lock.  Sutton was accompanied by his wife, children, and several other family members and friends.

“The overwhelming amount of support I have is something I’m very humbled by, ” said Sutton. “This seat belongs to the people of Johnston County, not me. I can assure you I will always put people first, policy second, and politics third.”

Sutton has served on the Board of Education since 2017.  He was out of state on Monday and unable to attend the scheduled Oath of Office ceremony for candidates who won election on Nov. 6th.

Sutton received his oath at 11:30am Friday at the Johnston County Clerk of Court’s Office.
