Top Three Resign In Sampson County

Finance director retiring a month later

SAMPSON COUNTY – Three of the top leaders in Sampson County government resigned their positions at last night’s regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners.

In October of this year, County Finance Director David Clack announced his retirement effective Dec. 31.

As Clack’s retirement date approaches, three of the leaders in county government announced their resignations effective Nov. 30.

During the Nov. 4 monthly meeting of the Sampson County Board of Commissioners, County Manager Edwin W. Causey announced his resignation effective the last day of November.

Later in the meeting, the Commissioner for District 3 and Vice-Chairperson of the board Sue Lee announced that after 10 years and with perfect attendance, she too resigned her seat effective Nov. 30.

Next, Commissioner for District 2 and board Chairperson Jerol Kivett announced that he would also be resigning effective the final day of the month.
