PRINCETON – A tow truck struck a Johnston County business after it was hit by a pickup truck Friday morning. The accident occurred around 8:00am on Highway 70 at Old Cornwallis Road in Princeton.
According to the NC Highway Patrol, a pickup truck pulled into the path of the tow truck, causing the tow truck driver to lose control and strike a gift shop at the intersection. The driver of the tow truck wasn’t hurt, however the driver of the pickup was seriously injured and transported to Wake Medical Center.
No one was inside the gift shop at the time of the accident.
The Johnston County Building Inspections Department responded and deemed the building unsafe for occupancy due to the extent of the damage.
