Town Council Fills Vacancy On Downtown Development Board

SMITHFIELD, N.C. — The Smithfield Town Council has approved the appointment of local business leader Lee Smith to the Downtown Smithfield Development Corporation (DSDC) Board of Directors.

The appointment was approved during the council’s July 7 meeting after the DSDC Board of Directors recommended Smith to fill a vacancy. Under the organization’s bylaws, appointments to the board must receive approval from the Smithfield Town Council.

Smith is the chief executive officer of Tarva Group LLC, a marketing and branding firm in downtown Smithfield.
