Town of Kenly – Coronavirus Update – March 17th

The following information has been released by Kenly Town Manager Michael Douglas:

With the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the Town of Kenly would like to ensure its residents and visitors to the community that we are doing everything possible to reduce the spread of the disease while still providing quality services to the community. As a result, we have made the following decisions:

Effective immediately, the below services are changed or cancelled until a review can be conducted on or about April 6th, 2020.

Library Services – The library will operate on normal hours. We will take the below actions to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and provide services for our residents.

• If you have any symptoms, please deposit your books in the book drop
• Hand sanitizer or wipes will be available for computer users
• Computer usage will be limited to an hour per person, unless school age children are working on school work
• No overdue fines will be incurred until after April 6

Parks and Recreation – All sporting events that have the expectation of more than 50 people in attendance are postponed until April 6th, 2020.

All other Town operations not listed will continue as normal.

The health and welfare of each resident is the priority of Mayor Williamson and each Council Member. The uncertainty of the spread of this virus will cause many of us to alter our habits, but as a Community we will get through this together.
