Town of Smithfield to Hold a “Community Briefing Call” Friday, March 20th

SMITHFIELD – Due to the recent events concerning the COVID-19 Pandemic, many citizens have questions and concerns that pertain to them locally.  On Tuesday, March 17th, Governor Cooper ordered cooperation with guidelines issued by the President of the United States directing the reduction of the congregating of persons to no more than ten (10) people. In response, Mayor Andy Moore, members of Town Council and Town Manager Michael Scott, will host a “Community Briefing Call” on Friday, March 20th at 6pm.

The purpose of the briefing is to give the Mayor, Council and Manager the opportunity to answer the most frequently asked questions being proposed by the citizens of the Town of Smithfield, as well as update everyone on the proactive steps being taken to maintain optimal operations, provide necessary and routine services and to best-ensure public safety.  The Town asks everyone to submit their questions prior to the call-in briefing as there will not be an opportunity to ask questions during the briefing.
