The Town of Smithfield will sell several vehicles, patrol cars and equipment as surplus property. The Smithfield Town Council approved the sale of the items and to allow them to be sold to the highest bidder on GovDeals.com.
The items include 6 police cars including two 2008 Chevrolet Impalas, a 2009 Dodge Charger, and three 2011 Dodge Chargers. The Public Works Department is also surplusing a 2003 Chevy 2500HD truck, 2000 Chevy 2500 truck, 2000 Navistar International garbage truck, 2004 Freightliner street sweeper, 1997 Caterpillar 416-C backhoe and 2006 Morris Trailer asphalt hotbox. The Planning Department is also selling a surplus 2007 Chevy Impala. Also included in the surplus item sale are 3 outdated police radars.
The items will be listed for sale on GovDeals.com no later than Monday, May 14th, 2018. All items must be paid for and removed from the Town of Smithfield storage lot within 5 business days after the completion of the sale, or the items will be subject to resale.
