CLAYTON – A tractor trailer jackknifed Thursday morning on US Highway 70 Bypass near Clayton. The accident was reportedly shortly before 8:00am between the Ranch Road and Highway 42 exits.
The collision caused diesel fuel to spill from the semi. Clayton Fire and Johnston County Emergency Management responded and contained the small spill.
No injuries were reported, however the accident caused significant delays for commuters.
The NCDOT responded to assess damage to a median cable barrier.
No other vehicles were involved.
The State Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
