A tractor trailer overturned this afternoon (Wednesday) while exiting off Interstate 95 in Johnston County. The accident was reported around 1:30pm at Exit 90 on I-95 at the US 701 / Highway 96 interchange in Four Oaks.
The northbound semi attempted to exit off the interstate but was reportedly traveling too fast to negotiate the curve. The truck overturned and landed on its side on Highway 96 at US 701.
The driver escaped without any injury. No other vehicles were involved.
The truck was loaded with pallets of bottled energy drinks. Â Â Liquid from the damaged drinks and a small amount of diesel fuel spilled onto the highway.
The Four Oaks Fire Department, Four Oaks EMS, Four Oaks Police, Johnston County EMS, and NC Highway Patrol responded to the scene.
