Tractor Trailer Overturns On I-95

A tractor trailer carrying 38,000 pounds of unspecified cargo overturned on Interstate 95 near the Pittman Road overpass around 10pm Monday.

Trooper said the driver claimed he didn’t know what happened. The semi was traveling southbound when it hit a guardrail and overturned.

The driver was transported to Wake Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

One lane of I-95 was closed for several hours by the NC DOT until the wreck could be cleared.
