SMITHFIELD – The Smithfield Town Council has awarded a contract for a Transportation Study for the new NC 210 Soccer Park.
The traffic impact analysis and intersection design will cost approximately $25,790. The board hired McAdams in Raleigh for the project.
The Town purchased 20 acres of land for a soccer park off NC 210 near US 70 a few years ago. The park has no road frontage and construction of an entrance off NC 210, and a roadway to the park along an easement, in needed.
The NCDOT is requiring the traffic impact analysis prior to approval of a driveway. A signalized intersection may be required due to the close proximity of Tulip Tree Drive in the Marlin Woods subdivision.
