Triangle East Chamber Urges Congress To Take Action

NC Chambers Join Together on Behalf of Businesses

SMITHFIELD – The Triangle East Chamber of Commerce has joined with 33 North Carolinian chambers of commerce to urge the 14 members of our Congressional Delegation to provide additional emergency assistance for employers. Representing more than 150,000 businesses across the state, the coalition of chambers is seeking swift action to aid those impacted by COVID-19.

In the letter the chambers said, ” As you continue to negotiate the many needs that persist because of the links between economic health and public health, the undersigned chambers of commerce from across the state urge you to support additional emergency assistance for employers such as the Paycheck Protection Program and liability protections that also recognize state progress on these issues, as well as more flexible state and local aid.”

As limitations due to safety precautions continue to affect Triangle East and the entire state of North Carolina, the Chamber is committed to advocating on behalf of both their members and all of the businesses in the region.
