An Eagle Scout Good Citizenship Award was presented to Chad Raymond Cross (center) from Eagle Scout Coordinator Lewis W. Rice III on behalf of the Johnston County Marine Corps League Carry-On Detachment #1236. The event took place July 29th at Providence Presbyterian Church on Highway 210 near Angier.
Chad is the son of Phillip and Christy Cross of Willow Springs. He is a member of Boy Scout Troop #210 at McGee’s Crossroads where he currently holds the position of Assistant Senior Patrol Leader.
Chad is an upcoming senior at West Johnston High School where he is a member of the marching band.
For his Eagle Scout project, Chad cleared a heavily wooded area at the Howell Wood’s Environmental Learning Center and added a primitive campsite for nature enthusiast to enjoy.
