Daniel Alan Stillman of Boy Scout Troop 422 in Selma received his Eagle Scout during a ceremony held last Saturday at Thanksgiving Baptist Church on Highway 42 near Selma.
Stillman, a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster in his troop, is also a member of the Order of the Arrow and the Honor Society of the Boy Scouts of America.
For his Eagle Scout project, Daniel built a covered shelter for the baseball players that host their games at Legend Park in Clayton.
Daniel is currently a junior at Corinth Holders High School and he is a member of their cross country track team.
During his Scouting career, Daniel biked more than 800 miles which would be the equivalent of a one way trip to Toronto, Canada and eight trips to Jacksonville, North Carolina. Daniel has also raised more than $8,000 throughout the years in the Scouting popcorn fundraiser program dating back to when he was in Cub Scouts.
During his Eagle Scout Ceremony, Daniel was also presented the Eagle Scout Good Citizenship Award from Eagle Scout Coordinator Lewis W. Rice III on behalf of the Johnston County Marine Corps League Carry-On Detachment 1236.
Daniel is the son of Alan and Pauline Stillman of Clayton.
