FOUR OAKS – The State Highway Patrol has released the name of a pedestrian struck and killed Thursday morning. The accident occurred at 11:20am on Old School Road about two 
miles west of Four Oaks near Hollingsworth Road.
Troopers said a Dodge pickup was traveling westbound when the driver collided with a pedestrian in the westbound travel lane. The pedestrian was identified as Ronald Clifford Smith of Four Oaks. Mr. Smith died at the scene. No charges will be filed.
Troopers did not release the age of the victim or why he may have been in the roadway.
